Project Brief
This telephone-based case–control study examined whether the use of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) as prophylaxis was associated with protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection among healthcare workers. Drawing on national laboratory testing databases maintained by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the study compared HCQ use between healthcare workers who tested positive and those who tested negative for COVID-19.
Role & Responsbilities
In my role as Co-Principal Investigator, I was actively involved in the development of the protocol, study design, and analysis plans. Responsibilities included overseeing data management and analysis, and managing a large study team. Additionally, I conducted data analysis and played a key role in preparing the manuscript summarizing the findings. This research has contributed valuable insights into the potential association between HCQ prophylaxis and SARS-CoV-2 infection in healthcare workers, aiding in the efforts to understand and mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
