From inquiry to impact

Most of my research begins with a question encountered in the clinic, in the field, or in conversations with the people whose lives our work seeks to improve. How do families obtain antibiotics for a sick child? Can two commercially approved rotavirus vaccines be safely used in an interchangeable regimen? How much typhoid is actually occurring in communities where surveillance is limited? How many antibiotic-treated courses of illnesses can we prevent if we scale up coverage for vaccine preventable infectious diseases?

Following these questions has taken me across epidemiology, infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and health policy. The work collected here reflects different ways of approaching the same underlying purpose: generating evidence that helps us better understand health problems and informs what we do about them.
