Welcome to my e-portfolio

I am a global health epidemiologist and physician-scientist driven by the vision of a healthy and sustainable future. My research focuses on understanding community-level factors linked to vulnerabilities and risks associated with emerging infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). I believe in empowering communities through access to information, evidence, and resources, enabling them to take informed action to protect human, animal, and environmental health while safeguarding their livelihoods and ecosystems.

Please also take a minute to check out STOP AMR, a 501c(3) nonprofit that I helped establish.

Recent Research Projects

Building Evidence for a Better World

I have had the incredible opportunity to be associated with several interesting research studies. Some of the more recent ones are listed here. Please check out Research Overview for more information.

Rotavirus Vaccine Interchangeability Trial

Conducted a large, phase IV, immunogenicity and safety trial, that showed Rotavac and Rotasiil could be safely administered in an interchangeable regimen; this evidence helped to support the decision to scale up the Rotavirus vaccine program nationally in India.

Developing Tools to Support WHO Action Against AMR

Developed a tool for situational analysis of AMR surveillance in India, which is used to evaluate AMR programs in WHO SEARO member states. Conducted a landscape review of the AMR situation in India; helped inform the National Action Plan on AMR in India.

Safety & Efficacy of Convalescent Plasma in moderate to severe Covid-19

Conducted a large, pan-India clinical trial to study the safety and efficacy of convalescent plasma for managing moderate to severe Covid-19. Results helped guide the policy for management of Covid-19 in India.

STOP AMR

A Passion Project for Public Good

I am part of the group that founded STOP AMR, a 501c(3) registered nonprofit organization, that is dedicated to collaborating with communities to mitigate the impact of antimicrobial resistance through education, advocacy, and innovative solutions.

We strive to empower individuals, communities, and organizations to take collective action, promoting responsible antimicrobial use and preserving the efficacy of these life-saving resources, while improving access to appropriate antimicrobial therapy for infectious diseases.

We are committed to build a world where communities thrive free from the threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), thus ensuring a sustainable and healthy future for generations to come.

At STOP AMR, we hope to create a global, community-facing movement dedicated to tackling the urgent threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by building a people’s movement to combat AMR.
