Rotavirus Vaccine Interchangeability Trial

The Rotavirus Vaccine Interchangeability Study is an open-label, phase IV trial, which is looking into the immunogenicity and safety of receiving a regimen of mixed doses of Rotavac and Rotasiil, the two rotavirus vaccines available through the public health system in India.

SaniPath-Typhoid India

The SaniPath approach helps in understanding the behavioral drivers of enteric fever transmission by a quantitative and qualitative assessment of quantum of risk exposure. In the SaniPath-Typhoid deployment in India, further components of environmental surveillance are being integrated to understand the environmental transmission of enteric fever.

Setting Priorities for Enteric Disease Control

Although mortality attributable to enteric infections has reduced recently, thanks to intense public helath intervention, enteric infectious diseases remain a major challenge for public health programs as they are stil a major cause for morbidity, DALYs and economic loss. In this study, we endeavor to explore the priority enteric diseases in the context of West Bengal.

PERIMILK India Project at PHFI

I worked on a project on the peri-urban drivers and determinants of zoonotic infection transmission, food systems, gender issues, and antimicrobial usage patterns, while I was working with the Roadmap to Control Zoonoses in India Initiativate (RCZI) at the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI).

Setting Research Priorities for Zoonoses Control

A research project on setting research priorities for identifying and addressing the gaps in the prevention and control of zoonotic diseases. Participants from 7 countries were involved with this study. Researchers from Asia (Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Nepal) and Africa (Ethiopia, Ghana, South Africa) and Europe (Belgium) worked on the CHNRI methodology to map the gaps in knowledge and identify priority list of research solutions.

MD Dissertation on Homeless Youth

My MD dissertation dealt with the examination of the mental and physical health status, and the history of abuse, and current substance use disorders, experienced by men aged between 18-24 years, who were living on the streets of New Delhi. The dissertation work was awarded the Kusum Pandit Gold Medal for the Best MD Dissertation.
